Anyone travel on 9/11?

If you did good. I did too.

My husband & I took a 3 hour scenic cruise on the Potomac River~ viewing National Airport, & all the surrounding of Washington D.C.

It was calm & quiet ~ peaceful beautiful. Only when a black hawk helicopter closely swooped over our cruise boat did I think about... 9/11

Somehow writing that date has never been the same for the last 6 years....nor will it be the same in the future.

I try to cherish each day.

Post Script: Glad to hear from all those lovely gals who were passed on the "Nice Matters Award".

Hi Michelle~ Sounds like you might travel for the holidays. It's hard to believe all the fall, winter activities are around the corner :)

I didn't travel that day~but just because nothing was planned--I wouldn't be afraid to. You are so right, Carrie, September 11 will never be the same again. Cherishing each day is truly the way to defeat those who dared to take away what we hold dear in this country. Thanks for a great post!

My husband had to travel on 9/ll/02 when everything was still so fresh in our memories. It was a very tense flight. But this year we only had local places to go and the atmosphere was really different. We're afraid that people are already forgetting - like Pearl Harbor doesn't really invoke any emotion these days. I'm afraid 9/11 will go that way too. Wouldn't that be just too sad!

Hi Manuela~ My sister also traveled on 9/11 in 02. She was scared, but it didn't stop her. Both her & my husband work in Washington D.C. The trip in the city hasn't been the same since then. My husband doesn't seem to dwell on it at all, but I know some people that had nightmares for years...I hope also people don't forget...just live life without fear.

Thank you for leaving a comment.
