Little Bags...

One of the crafts I LOVE to create are gift bags. Small, large, square, round---if you receive a gift from me---most likely it will not be paper wrapped, but be placed inside a handmade fabric gift bag. If you are thinking that it would be easier to just paper wrap a gift...to me this is easier-& a gift bag that can be used forever---Also if you're like me & have tons of fabrics pieces that you are not willing to throw away-this is a wonderful alternative. For years my family & friends have received this little bags-each with a button & a bow...so for years they have called these my "button bags." Two of the button gift bags above will be included in a raffle basket I will be making up for tomorrow night. Our local orchard called Butler's Orchard is having a fund raiser for our local high school's after Prom party. I haven't made up the basket yet, but it will be filled with bath & body goodies from Under the Willow, several more decorative washing cloths, etc... & the middle "doggie" button gift bag will be sent to a relative in Florida with a soap sample tucked inside.

What a lovely idea. The bags can be used over and over again.

These are so cute.

I love finding easy things to sew, especially when I can use up all my scraps. Do you have patterns or just come up with something off the top of your head?

Oh how cute! I love the little 'pocket' one! Mine are just pain squares with drawstrings. :(

Jackie, Heidi, & egassner~ Yes! The best part that can be reused forever...A pattern? Nah--easy to just wing it. Any size fabric will work, as long as (if it's small piece) can fit on your sewing arm...

Thank you so much for your comments.

Love the gift bags. I have a lot of scraps. Maybe I'll think about using some of them this way. If I ever find time. Seems like I spend an awful lot of time at the computer.
You commented about the birds making a mess. They sure do - especially pigeons. We have an ongoing battle with pigeons in our neighborhood. They love these tile roofs.
Blessings.

I have tons and tons of fabric and fabric scraps. I've made gift bags before, but hadn't in years. You are inspiring me to do it again! :) Yours are beautiful!
