Wedding Countdown...3 Weeks

Spring is here in Maryland, & our lilac bush is almost in full bloom! A clear reminder that the wedding approaching is too~ almost in full bloom ...

It may be three weeks away, but I'd like to think of it as 21 days until.... Twenty-one days just sounds like we have more time to prepare for the event. For the next three weeks I'll log or "blog" about what we have been doing to prepare for approximately 200 people to gather at our home for the wedding of our oldest son. When we built our home 22 years ago, I remember my husband & I saying how we would LOVE one of our children to get married on our property...BUT after 22 years our home has seen alot of changes, and BOY we had some preparing- OKAY- restoring to do...So a wedding was the perfect excuse to just "do it"...And believe me~ things at one point looked alot worst before they looked better...

Let's start with the outside. After all it's an outdoor wedding. First some of the doors had seen better days...good grief when I look at the before pictures I wondered why we waited so long....

From this (ugh!) to...

Ah....much better~ carriage house doors...

Disregarded side garage entry door...

Much better~ new side garage entry door...

I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about our front walk way~ it's been completed for 3 weeks, and the landscapers PROMISE to have the landscape completed two weeks before the wedding. This way it will be at it's peak. Flowers, some trees (a birch will be planted by our gazebo), lightning~ the works... Should I be worried????

Flowers, lightning, even a large rock will take the place of the dirt...soon I hope.

The only ones NOT nervous about all this "stuff" going on are our dogs....

Picture taken today on our front side field...Bella & Muskie enjoying the sunshine!

And the baby bird eggs resting~nesting on our front door wreath...They should be hatched & gone by May 24th...oh~ the clean up here! They don't care either about what's going on!

Beautiful blue robin eggs on our front door...

And speaking of doors....DON'T forget about the dog that maybe stuck in a bathroom all day because you are too busy to notice :)

So what's ONE more project in the scheme of things???? I told my husband that, "At least the dog didn't chew through the door....honey." Oops

Everything looks like it's coming together beautifully. Lots of room for the pups to play, they certainly look like they were having fun!

It is going to come together so nicely- just you wait and see. I think it looks pretty good right now, but I can only imagine what it will look like when the landscapers finish with the plants! So much fun :)

Thank you everyone for the support.

As of tonight...

Two hundred soap favors boxed. Done.

Forty~ Antique blue & clear ball jar, filled with sand & tea lights.
Done.

Dear friend~ grabbed flower vines to make some wreaths for 3 doors.
Done.

Another dear friend (also a personal shopper)~ made some choices for an outfit. Okay--I'll be honest--I have a handful of choices, and haven't decided what to wear yet...everyone is screaming---you're almost out of time.
Almost done. :)

Carrie, I am sure that you will handle everything that needs to be done with grace and aplomb. You are a very talented lady. I just know the yard and house will be perfect by the time the wedding occurs.

God bless.
