Elf on a shelf is nothing new in my holiday traditions. I remember growing up and looking for our "Elf" once the holiday season began... My mom would tuck it on top of a curtain, a kitchen cabinet, or a "shelf".
What about you? Do you have an "Elf on a shelf"? Did you have one growing up?

I'd never heard of that before. Course, prior to coming to Canada, I don't think we even knew what Christmas was. And hubby was raised without Christmas so we cobble together a few traditions for ourselves.
Definitely haven't heard of that tradition before. Monica's too young to remember Christmas in Hong Kong, but I have pictures of me with "Santa Claus" from that era. :)

Teresa- I think the "Elf on the Shelf" was trademarked in the 70's- but the tradition started a long time before that. I'm old.
